| - Ninten is the main protagonist in EarthBound Zero/Beginnings. He went on a quest along with Ana, Loid to defeat Giygas (also known as Giegue in Mother 1). Unlike Ness and Lucas, he hasn't been playable in any Super Smash Bros. game, but he made a cameo as sticker in Brawl and a stage cameo in the Magicant stage in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
- Ninten (にんてん) is a character in Mother. He is a boy from the suburbs of Mother's Day, and is the older brother of Minny and Mimmy. Nowadays, Ninten lives to this day as the president of his Cream Cheese Oreo factory.He also loves tacoes.
- Ninten is the only Mother PSI user party member who can't use offensive PSI. As such, in his appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series, he uses support PSI for his specials, such as PSI Hypnosis and PSI Shield. His signature PSI technique is 4th-D Slip, which no other character can use. He also appears in the Kingdom Smash Bros. series, a crossover series between Super Smash Bros and Kingdom Hearts.

If Ninten makes the cut, all of the Earthbound protagonists from their respective games would make their appearences in a Super Smash Bros. game. It would also add another representative from that series and is a great way to revive and promote the original game since it was not as popular or well known like the others (Mother was regarded as one of the greatest games of all time on the Famicom).Ninten has some notable visual differences from Ness. Ninten's hat faces to the left while Ness' faces to the right, he is slightly taller and thinner than Ness, wears a red bandana around his neck instead of a backpack.
- Ninten (ニンテン) is a character found in the Famicom classic Mother. His name is a shortened version of Nintendo. He was the protagonist of the game who set off on a journey after two of his household appliances came to life and attacked him, including a doll and a lamp. He goes off to journey to find out why exactly this had happened to him. On his journey, Ninten will meet up with multiple other strange characters who'll ultimately be valuable team members. These include Lloyd, Ana, Teddy, and other characters who'll just briefly join his team.
