Driscoll was Tennyson's lieutenant. He led a fake attack on Mountshannon which added to the illusion of Tennyson's power. He stated that he had eighty men, but had only thirty, hiding them in the trees so no one would know. He also faked fleeing after Tennyson and his acolytes chanted, yet not one of them dropped their weapons Later, Driscoll and his band of ruffians and thugs met up with Padriag's men and marched on to attack Criakennis, a large town in Hibernia. The point of this was to prove that only with Tennyson around were they safe.
