George Davies was a biologist aboard the William Howells. He'd married Sybil Hussie just prior to the Howells flight from Terra, and so had to endure jokes about practicing what he studied. When Ramon Castillo presented his hypothesis that the people of Kussara spoke to their gods because they were not truly conscious beings, Hussie and Davies were both the most skeptical. Hussie was particularly scornful in the beginning, although she'd softened some by the time the conversation had ended. Davies, on the other hand, remained vocally skeptical until the end, and only grudgingly acknowledged the need for experimentation.
