  • Sister Cicely was the Infirmary Keeper of Redwall Abbey during the time of Abbot Durral. She was notorious for her cure-all remedy, warm nettle broth, which was very much disliked by other Abbey members. Sister Cicely was a very good carer, but was sometimes too zealous and a little bit of a curmudgeon. She would force those in her care to rest even if they were better and insisted that they drink only her nettle broth even if they needed solid food. She could be strict and a bit fussy with Dibbuns but always well meaning. As a young hogmaid, Tansy would assist the Sister with gathering herbs and stalks for her remedies. Cicely worked closely with Brother Dormal, the herbalist. She was succeeded by Viola Bankvole.
