Gerald McDonald (born March 18, 1958 in Weymouth, Massachusetts) is a retired professional ice hockey defenceman. He played eight games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Hartford Whalers in 1983-84. He retired in 1984. He had played for North Adams State College, a NCAA Division III school, from 1977 to 1980. No NHL team drafted him. His son, Colin, is a hockey player, currently playing for the Oklahoma City Barons, of the American Hockey League (AHL).
