| - Nyarlathotep (ナイアーラトテップ Naiāratoteppu?) is an entity, one of the Outer Gods, appearing in stories from the Cthulhu Mythos. In Toaru Majutsu no Index, Nyarlathotep is a being which can be brought into existence through certain spells based off the Cthulhu Mythos.
- Due to being a master shape shifter it would be almost imposible to name all of Nyarlathotep's transformation however, their are two which he takes on more then the others. The first is a tanned skinned man with black hair and golden eyes. He usually dresses as an Egyptian Pharaoh. He wears all golden armor that covers his legs and arms. But leaves his chest open. The armor has blue designs on it as well. His other appearance has been stated to look almost exactly like Nico causing some people to confuse the two. Which one of them despise while the other finds hilarious.

- Nyarlathotep is the true name of one of the Archdemons of the Netherworld. In particular, he is Asmodeus' second-in-command. He is one of the archvillains of the Tetraverse story. Nyarlathotep travels to many reaches of the cosmos to cause chaos and havoc among different civilizations. His goal is directly opposed to that of the Almarians - he seeks to corrupt civilizations that they wish to protect. In this sense, Nyarlathotep is more directly involved in the Great War than his master.
- Nyarlathotep, known to many by his epithet The Crawling Chaos, is an Outer God in the Cthulhu Mythos. He is the spawn of Azathoth. He is the creation of H. P. Lovecraft and first appeared in his prose poem "Nyarlathotep" (1920). Nyarlathotep appears in numerous subsequent stories by Lovecraft, and is also featured in the works of other authors, as well as in role-playing games based on the Cthulhu Mythos.
