| - Kublai Bektaigar was born the fifth son of Tudan Bektaigar, twelfth Khan of Akhatai. Although blessed with a childhood of relative peace, he became heavily involved in a struggle for the throne against four of his older brothers after the murder of his father and uncles, and the attempted murder of his half-brother, Ajirai. He eventually defeated them and ascended to the Khan's seat as the thirteenth Khan of Akhatai. At the height of the Blessed Era, he headed the Akhatai in their defence against the East Astrian powers in the First Halesche Crusade, ultimately losing substantial parts of the Khanate to new states. Despite this, his period was later heralded by most of the steppe tribes as one of the greatest, in no small part due to the Khan's measures to ensure peace in the southern tribal lands, along with new technological advances gained during war, and through maritime trade with others westward. He was known not only for his strong sense of justice, but also for his kindness to his advisor and disabled brother Ajirai, who became his key battlefield commander soon after Kublai seized power in Akhatai.
