Nicholas Hanhart (17 June 1848 - 4 January 1923) was a solicitor and local politician. Born in St Pancras, he was the son of a French-born lithographer, also named Nicholas Hanhart and his wife Emma née' Potts. in 1873 he was admitted as a solicitor and by 1875 living in Hampstead, when he married Clara Ann Anderson. He had a legal practice in Holborn, and in 1885 was admitted as a Freeman of the City of London. A member of Hampstead Borough Council, he served as Mayor of Hampstead for part of 1902. Moderate Party member of the London County Council representing Hampstead from 1904-07.
