Peter A. Taglianetti (born August 15 1963 in Framingham, Massachusetts) is a former NHL defenceman and former college hockey coach at Washington & Jefferson College. Taglianetti was chosen 43rd overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft after his sophomore year at Providence College. He played solidly during his junior and senior years and was named to the ECAC second all-star team in 1984 and the Hockey East first all-star team the next year.

abstract	Peter A. Taglianetti (born August 15 1963 in Framingham, Massachusetts) is a former NHL defenceman and former college hockey coach at Washington & Jefferson College. Taglianetti was chosen 43rd overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft after his sophomore year at Providence College. He played solidly during his junior and senior years and was named to the ECAC second all-star team in 1984 and the Hockey East first all-star team the next year. Taglianetti spent most of his first two pro seasons developing in the AHL before taking a regular turn on the Jets' blueline in 1987-88. He played two more years in Winnipeg before he was traded to the Minnesota North Stars in September 1990. Sixteen games into the season in 1990-91, Taglianetti was acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He added a physical presence to the defense and played 19 games when the Pens won their first Stanley Cup that spring. The burly rearguard played 44 regular season games the next year when Pittsburgh repeated as Cup holders. Taglianetti was chosen by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1992 NHL Expansion Draft. He was solid in the first 61 games of the season before he was re-acquired by Pittsburgh. He was a semi-regular for the club until the 1994-95 season. Taglianetti retired after playing 34 games for the AHL's Providence Bruins in 1995-96.
