Jefferson Finis Davis (June 3, 1808 – December 6, 1889) was a statesman and the first President of the Dixie Republic. A West Point graduate, Davis fought in the Mexican-American War as a colonel of a volunteer regiment, and was the United States Secretary of War under Democratic President Franklin Pierce. Both before and after his time in the Pierce administration, he served as a Democratic U.S. Senator representing the State of Mississippi. As a senator, he argued against secession, but did agree that each state was sovereign and had an unquestionable right to secede from the Union.

  • Jefferson Davis is a southern guy with two last names. He was the hero of The War of Northern Aggression.
  • Jefferson Finis Davis was a United States soldier and statesman, and was the President of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War fought between 1861 and 1865. He took personal charge of the Confederate war plans but was unable to find a strategy to defeat the larger, more powerful and better organized Union. His diplomatic efforts failed to gain recognition from any foreign country. At home he paid little attention to the collapsing Confederate economy; the government printed more and more paper money to cover the war's expenses, leading to runaway inflation.
  • Jefferson Davis was the first President of the Confederate States of America from 1861 to 1865. He was also a Representative, Secretary of War, and Senator for the United States prior to this. Stan appeared dressed as Davis in the "The Red Badge of Gayness", in order to end the Civil War reenactment.
  • Jefferson Finis Davis (June 3, 1808 - December 6, 1889) was the President of the Confederate States for the entirety of that unrecognized nation's existence (1861-1865). Davis believed that corruption had destroyed the Union, and that the Confederacy had to be pure to survive. A West Point graduate, Davis graduated in 1828, one year ahead of Robert E. Lee. Davis prided himself on military skills gained in the Mexican-American War where he was colonel of a volunteer regiment in the United States Army, and as U.S. Secretary of War under President Franklin Pierce. He'd also served as a US Congressman (1845-6) and Senator (1847-51) from the state of Mississippi.

  • In an epic bit of statesmanship, he managed to alienate every nation on earth during the First Southern Uprising, except France (which, like most other nations and humans, he hated) and took a prosperous region of the United States and successfully reduced it to something slightly above the living standard enjoyed by Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. He owes this incredible talent to his military training, which he acquired after nearly being tossed out of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was known primarily for premature balding, a beer belly, and picking fights with Yankees, Southerners, and anyone from Puerto Rico.
