- Winston Payne is a prosecutor often called the "Rookie Killer" due to his tendency to defeat novice defense attorneys. He is notable for being the first opponent of Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice, as well as the second opponent of Mia Fey.
- [[Imagem:OA-Winston.jpg|thumb|202px|Winston Payne no caso Turnabout Memories.]]
- Winston Payne is the first prosecutor that Phoenix Wright goes up against. While he comes off as generally weak and not too sturdy on the courtroom floor, rumor has it he used to be a vicious lawyer with a condescending attitude toward rookie defense attorneys. Rumor also has it that the reason he no longer acts that way is because of Mia Fey.
- Payne's amusing. Amusing in the extent of his patheticness, yes. But he's just entertaining in general, even if his OBJEEECHTIONNN! is sort of one of the more ear-splitting sounds in the game. He's just always sort of funny to go against, even if he's never really a threat. ROOKIE CRUSHAAA Payne was also quite entertaining to go up against, and the whole "My haiiiiiiiirrrr!" bit was just... y-yeah. Poor Payne had his spirit broken by Mia D: Of course, he's made attempts to regrow it. And he's apparently taken a page from Dahlia's book with the hairstyle. Hooray for Winston Payne.
