From here, Highway 6 follows the Slocan River north to New Denver, where it meets Highway 31A. Heading northwest, the Highway 6 reaches a junction with Highway 23 in Nakusp. It then goes southeast, following the Columbia River to Fauquier, where it goes on the Needles Ferry, and crosses Lower Arrow Lake. From here, Highway 6 heads northwest through the Monashee Mountains and the communities of Cherryville and Lumby, where it turns west for the final stretch through Coldstream, finally ending in Vernon at a junction with Highway 97.
