A dominating woman, she finds men weak and lowly compared to the army she has. She is also incredibly reverent of her gods and goddesses. History: Arriving in the city of Themiscyra on the river Thermodon in 338 BC, Thalestris (the ‘Daughter of Ares’ as she was called for her spirit) was the first born daughter of a Scythian warrior queen. At the age of five, Thalestris was given her first weapon, a small bow, and by ten the princess was skilled in the art of war, favoring the elongated spear as a weapon of choice. Thalestris killed her first man in a struggle at thirteen and at fifteen the young woman succeeded her mother to the throne. The same year Thalestris was crowned Queen of Themiscyra, she took her legendary three hundred warriors and rode out to meet Alexander the Great. Some claim Thalestris was searching for the perfect mate and to produce a generation of female queens with the strength and wit of Alexander himself. Despite how unimpressed Thalestris was with Alexander, she was said to have bedded him for thirteen nights. Although nothing was rumored to come of Thalestris’s 13 night stay with Alexander, she does have a sixteen year old daughter named Alexiares. Thalestris and the ruler of Macedon parted as friends. Thalestris currently has an alliance with Cassander and she fought in the Battle of Marathon for him against Ziobetes. She won the battle and captured Ziobetes, but then released him. She was present at the pankration, where her daughter Alexiares fought against Spartaca and Tisiphone. Other Amazon Queens: Queen Kihana – the Libyan Amazon queen, Queen Myrine – leader of the North African Gorgon tribe, Queen Aysu – leader of the Cappadocian tribe, and Queen Derinoe – leader of the Aegean Tribe.
