Ekibyogami's Lament was a small village in Nazo Mori region. A temple to Ekibyogami, the Fortune of Disease, sat nearby, where those sick or diseased came to pray for the Fortune's forgiveness in hope of being cured. The monks left the temple after one of the villagers used a plant from the forest to heal his mother, against the advice of the monks, who had said they had received dire omens from Ekibyogami and the Fortune would no longer be able to protect the village. Since that day people began to die of illness and suffered unpleasant afflictions, and the village was renamed Ekibyogami's Lament. In this place death was never far away.
