Pero este apacible pueblo tiene una oscura leyenda de asesinatos macabros, maldiciones y cultos a una antigua deidad que poco a poco se irá apoderando de Keiichi haciéndolo cruzar la delgada línea entre lo real y lo irreal, sumergiéndolo en la locura y el miedo.

- Part of the When they Cry series of visual novels, this is a murder mystery known and generally loved on OT. Or maybe I mean horror. Or possibly school comedy. It has an excellent anime series, although generally it is believed to be inferior to the game. And did I mention the blood? There's a lot. Ha sido adaptado a un anime producido por Studio DEEN, con 50 capítulos en total; una novela ligera publicada por Square Enix, y un manga, publicado casi en su totalidad por Square Enix y también por Kadokawa Shoten para las sagas de Onisarashi-hen y Utsutsukowashi-hen. En 2008 se estrenó una saga de 2 películas live action, y en diciembre, una serie de OVAs.
