He wrote the scripts for several popular television shows as well as several full length feature films. His credits includes Hogan's Heroes, where he helped co-wrote the pilot episode, M*A*S*H, Quincy, M.E., The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Andy Griffith Show, and Charlie's Angels. He died of prostate cancer in Los Angeles, California.
