As head coach at Shinpadzio, Dribble was able to oversee his side tackle all obstacles and reach the Mobius Cup Final. Unfortunately, he became dismayed when his side became cocky and lazy, turning to junk food and growing enormous stomachs. • Ronnie Dribble was the Shinpadzio manager during the 1998 season, in which the team got all the way to the Mobius Cup Final. However, between the Final and their previous game, the players all became unhealthy, lazy slobs, and Ronnie did not think they had the ability to challenge for the trophy. He asked Sonic the Hedgehog to join the team, but Sonic refused in the interest of fair play. Taking this as Sonic "Taking their side", he resorted to capturing Sonic, locking him in a Megatel-enforced cell, and copying his speed powers. Dribble gave a copy of Sonic's powers to the Shinpadzio players, however they were unable to control Sonic's super speed and ended up losing the game 22-0.

Unfortunately, he became dismayed when his side became cocky and lazy, turning to junk food and growing enormous stomachs. With their place in the final booked, their form suffered and Dribble believed they would be too unfit to even run in the biggest game of the season. Dribble panicked and turned to Sonic the Hedgehog, hoping to sign him up to Shinpadzio. When Sonic turned him down in the interests of fair play, the dog shot him with a hi-tech gun that downloaded a copy of Sonic's skills. As Sonic was placed in a megatal cage, Dribble fired his gun at the Shinpadzio's players, granting them all super speed. However, during the game, it quickly became clear that they could not handle these powers and began to lose heavily. Dribble attempted to escape before the fans caught him, but he was stopped by Sonic, who had drilled through the floor of his reinforced cage. After a quick duffing-up, Dribble admitted he made mistakes during his first foray into villainy. Before he could get another chance, the Shinpadzio chairman relieved Dribble of his duties and brought the police in to arrest him.

Horrified, Ronnie tried to escape before the fans could catch him, only to be caught by Sonic instead (Sonic had tunnelled out through the floor of the cell). Dribble defensively told Sonic that he was new to being a villain, but Sonic stepped aside for Dribble's Chairman, who fired the manager and prosecuted his for bringing the game into disrepute. Dribble was led away by police, in full view of the fans.
