The Unknown Soldier was a U.S. Military operative active during World War II. He is a master of disguise who normally wears bandages, as his face was destroyed in an explosion. His identity has never been revealed, and his name is taken from the famous Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. However, he did not die during the war and remained active as an intelligence agent. Moses Lwanga later used the name to fight warlords in Uganda. In the New 52 reboot he is seen as a modern-day soldier fighting in Afghanistan. Unknown Soldier was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert, first appearing in Our Army at War #168. (1966)
