- The Golden Palace (in Japanese:黄金城, Okonjou) is a gigantic, supernatural shiro-styled palace created by the sorcerer Hiruko Ubusuna in the middle of modern-day Tokyo. This twisted towering imperial palace of Japanese design has a an eye symbol of the Gojufu talismans on it the front of its upper balcony and and both its exteriors and interiors are completely made of solid gold. It was constructed by Hiruko with the aid of malicious and mythical demons known as the Hellspawn as a monument to his power and his rule over the Earth and all of its inhabitants.
- The Imperial Treasury, otherwise known as the “Golden Palace”, was in fact anything but golden, extremely staid in appearance, the least ostentatious building in all of the Shijou District at Toshi Ranbo. The unassuming building was a solid four stories in height, with a tiled pagoda roof, a massive vault for the storage of Imperial wealth collected through taxes. It housed the offices for the Imperial Treasurer and his attendants. The lower floors were vaults and offices, some of them extending below ground, the upper stories were libraries.

- This impressive building with beautiful pastel-colored adornments in the centre of HKO's London is locked. Mimmy, the twin sister of Hello Kitty is standing next to it. You will have to take on many adventures and journeys to unlock this palace and free its sleeping inhabitant. It is not clear if the Golden Palace is modeled after "Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress" aka "the Tower of London" or "the White tower" (the inner and original fortress). But the Tower did not only serve as a royal palace and fortress, it was also a bitter prison, even for royal prisoners.

So the glamorous Golden Palace of HKO might may be a fictional version of the "Buckingham Palace", the London residence of the British monarchs? On the other hand the royal residence is not located in the center of London, and it also hasn't got a cross-shaped floor plan like the Golden Palace does. The Buckingham palace also has a large balcony and the Victoria Memorial is standing in front of it... Another strange fact is the Hello Kitty "statue" on top that looks a lot like Liza Minelli in "Cabaret" and would be more suitable to the Moulin Rouge. There are other old residences called "Palace" in the real London of today: the "Crystal Palace", formerly a glass-and-iron-building, in South London, the "Alexandra Palace" in North London or even the "Palace Theatre", a red brick building in the City of Westminster. Only the Alexandra Palace has a color close to "golden", it also features a rose window, ornated walls and a variegated roof-construction. At the present it houses exhibition centres, a conference centre, an ice-skating ring, a radio tower (out of use) and a theatre stage. Concerts, festivals and other events were and are held there until today.
