Storm Squadron is one of three squadrons that Imperial Pilots can join. This squadron is widely considered the hardest pilot squad in the game.

- Storm Squadron, nicknamed Guerrilla Squadron and Imperial Rogue Squadron, was an Imperial Navy TIE pilot squadron formed by Grand Admiral Thrawn. It was led by Colonel Marek Vaiken Stele, and was made up of his hand-picked ace pilots. They were considered to be the Galactic Empire's equivalent of Rogue Squadron.
- The Storm Squadron is an emergency interception squadron. They are launched on sortie to respond to immediate threats, especially terrorism. Storm Squadron exclusively uses CFA-44 Nosferatus developed by Neucom Incorporated.

It was formed by Imperial General Teron Helstone as an answer to the New Republic's Wraith Squadron and its successful hybrid mix of tactics. While the Empire already had something similar with the Storm Commandos, Helstone felt a unit dedicated to starfighter combat and guerrilla warfare was not only possible, but could be invaluable. To that end, he selected the best Storm Commandos under his command and subjected them to rigorous training designed to hone their skills and make them a match for Wraith Squadron. Since their formation, Storm Squadron has performed well above Helstone's already high expectations, and proven themselves on the battlefield time and time again.

| - Storm Squadron can be seen as the starfighter equivalent of Hellion Company. It was formed by Imperial General Teron Helstone as an answer to the New Republic's Wraith Squadron and its successful hybrid mix of tactics. While the Empire already had something similar with the Storm Commandos, Helstone felt a unit dedicated to starfighter combat and guerrilla warfare was not only possible, but could be invaluable. To that end, he selected the best Storm Commandos under his command and subjected them to rigorous training designed to hone their skills and make them a match for Wraith Squadron. Since their formation, Storm Squadron has performed well above Helstone's already high expectations, and proven themselves on the battlefield time and time again. The starfighter of choice for the unit is the TIE Hunter since it's used near-exclusively by the Storm Commandos anyway. The irony of using Republic tactics and a starfighter based on the X-wing in an Imperial squadron is not lost on anyone in the unit, but the results speak for themselves. In fact the members of Storm Squadron take an odd sense of pride in using the enemy's own tactics against them. The squadron is also somewhat unique for the Empire in that it purposefully incorporates women and near-Human species without bias. This is done to better help the squadron blend in while undercover in enemy territory. The members of Storm Squadron wear a modified version of Storm Commando armor that allows them to survive in space for a limited period of time, much like TIE Pilots, but otherwise incorporates all the features of the base armor.
