  • A conversation is words spoken during a time you meet someone or something stupid like that.
  • Conversation is the skill of passing time by talking. The character is adept at finding inoffensive, intriguing topics to pass the time conversing upon. It is considered a High Skill.
  • Conversations are the interactions between player characters and Civic NPCs during Civic Diplomacy. The five conversation types are: Convince, Entertain, Gossip, Incite and Interview. All conversations except Interview block one type of expression during a parley. Not all conversations are available in each town, depending on the race of the town's residents. Faction and prestige gains as a result of Civic Diplomacy are affected by the conversation. The conversation type also influences the rewards (information and city buffs) for a successful parley.
  • Conversation is the ninth and final chapter of volume ten and the eighty-eighth chapter of the Death Note manga series.

  • Villagers will typically give a general statement at the start of a conversation, often relating to the time of year, weather, or their current position. Once this statement is finished, options will appear which further the conversation, though there are some exceptions where options are unavailable. In all games these options include talking further, giving a delivery, giving a requested item, or ending the conversation. In the GCN games, an option for specifically asking for favors was available, though this is not present in later games. Some conversations involve more in-depth comments, games, and even deliveries.
  • A conversation (or dialog) is a series of options and responses which represent an interaction between a character and a non-player character (NPC), or between a character and a placeable or item. Conversations cannot be conducted while in combat.

Conversations cannot be conducted while in combat. In a conversation, a character may have the option to persuade, intimidate, or bluff an NPC to reveal additional information or perform a certain action (such as giving bonus treasure). The character must beat the NPC's DC for the dialog option to be successful. The option is preceded by the skill's name in brackets, e.g. [Persuade]; the NPC's response is preceded by [Success] or [Failure], depending on the result of the playable character's skill check.

This usually indicates that the villager wants to talk to the player specifically for a variety of reasons including selling, trading, or requesting. Villagers will automatically initiate a conversation when pushed, hit with a net, or if a flea over their head is caught.
