Captain Miles owned a vessel which was docked at Indian Cove in 1840. It was leaving Collinsport during the night, Joanna Mills knew Captain Miles and had persuaded him to take Quentin and Desmond Collins who had been found guilty of witchcraft, but who had since escaped from custody. However, neither boarded, Quentin refused to board whilst Daphne Harridge was missing, and Desmond was unable to having been wounded by gunfire upon his escape from prison. The vessel was to have taken them to England (1189).
