Mitzi(VNEF014) was first seen in April 2009 in the semi-habituated group known as the Nequoia. Her mother and father were unknown. Her litter-mates may have been Salty(VNEM013) and VNEF015. The dominant female at the night was VNEF001 who may have been Mitzi's mother. The domiant male was VNEM002, however he probably was a natal-dominant male because he was seen spending a lot of time roving away from the group. He and several other males left the group and a wild male named Pantxo joined the group in October 2009 and became the dominant male. VNEF001 died in December and Kaluha became the new dominant female. VNEF015 has been evicted and disappared with some other females.
