Reason: This image is kinda ruined by the particles. It makes it look like a mess of blue, like someone has opened Photoshop and drawn over it with a brush (especially the left side of the image). I also don't really see this as being that interesting. There are still some dark pixels at the top of the subject too which were left behind when making the image transparent.

The particle transparency is indeed rather messy (sorry Henneyj!) and ought to be fixed for a featured image, but apart from that I really like the image.
