Comment - I love this calculator and it seems to be doing the trick for me as well. I would, however, like to see some documentation about this "extension" in terms of helping other players to come up with their own calculators and possibly getting support from the Hiscores pages with these calculators. If you need help with the documentation, I'd be glad to come up with some. I'm also curious about the extension using the

I would, however, like to see some documentation about this "extension" in terms of helping other players to come up with their own calculators and possibly getting support from the Hiscores pages with these calculators. If you need help with the documentation, I'd be glad to come up with some. I'm also curious about the extension using the (preformatted text) tag and why you chose that particular HTML markup tag for an extension in this case? This is more of a developer's commentary on the issue, as I can think of a few positive reasons for going that way even though other HTML tags could have been used. --Robert Horning 17:20, December 13, 2009 (UTC) I think moving Quarenon's guide to making them to a RuneScape: page (RS:CALC?) is a good idea, as well as moving Cat's RSHiscores extensions usage to a project page (RS:HS springs to mind), adding templates that use the HS string and examples, etc, would be good too. Formalises the whole thing, while making it easier for newer editors to find help pages for making them. File:Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 17:45, December 13, 2009 (UTC) The choice of requiring was for two reasons: ::# The wiki software won't interpret anything in , so no wikitext parsing of the configuration would occur. ::# It avoids whitespace collapsing in the browser. Internet Explorer in particular tends to collapse all whitespace in the inner content of any node except in , so this preserves the use of newlines to separate each form parameter definition. -- 21:10, December 13, 2009 (UTC) Thumbs up - Awesome. As its based on Template:Combat, I see no reason for implementing this one immediately on level. I have an extension ready for the combat template (be it an new template or integrated into combat), here, with some tests here; comments? 17:45, December 13, 2009 (UTC) Question - Is it possible for it to also show a players level on a ftp world (so it doesn't include summoning)?? 03:23, December 15, 2009 (UTC) :I'll have to modify the template I use, but it should be possible. - 04:56, January 8, 2010 (UTC) Another question - I like the user input mode for the calculator and would like it to be merged with the current table with a separate 're-calculate' button. This means that some fields in the table would be editable. Makes for a much more straightforward user experience. --Miw 22:09, January 5, 2010 (UTC) :I'll try, although I'm not sure if it is possible. - 04:56, January 8, 2010 (UTC) ::The ability to move the editable fields directly into the result table isn't currently possible, although it would be a good idea to have more flexible ways to present the form, so I will look into ways of doing this. -- 20:21, January 8, 2010 (UTC) Comment - I think that if you're unranked in a certain stat, it should be able to use the manually entered level in its place. Also, I agree with Gaz that we should think about moving this to level soon. We need to make it fall back to the original "Edit/Preview" calculator if the JS calc fails to load for some reason. -- 20:21, January 8, 2010 (UTC) :I agree, try adding it to the calc page and see how people respond to it. 06:59, February 8, 2010 (UTC) :Yea, it should be added to the calc page, would be good to see how people like it. -- 20:45, February 23, 2010 (UTC) This calculator has been applied to the combat level page. 17:53, March 9, 2010 (UTC) === Smithing Training Calculator (TLUL) === Based on Gaz Lloyd's cooking calculator, but using the script to customize the table. Also highlights actions that you can perform in green, and that you cannot perform in red (provided your custom CSS doesn't override it). Note that at the current time, it does not contain validation to ensure that the target level is above the current level. *Pretty nice. I spotted one small error: you make 4 cannonballs per bar, not one. Otherwise, it looks complete. 23:25, December 13, 2009 (UTC) **Ooh, I'll be sure to fix that. Couldn't find my way to this page until now =( === Runecrafting Training Calculator (TLUL) === Similar to the smithing calc, but doesn't calculate a total profit due to the randomness in crafting runes. Also subject to the same weaknesses. *You could add a minimum profit for crafting runes, on a 1:1 (essence:runes; or 1:x for multirunes) basis, ignoring the random extra runes created. 23:25, December 13, 2009 (UTC) *A player could also input the average runes he gets per trip and the number of essence he has, this would calculate his profit with the average number of runes HE claims he gets. 21:06, December 15, 2009 (UTC) **Both good ideas. I'll see what I can do. ===Miscellania Profit calculator (Gaz)=== Calculates the profit of Managing Miscellania. Only thing truly wrong with it at the moment is the distrobutions of seeds from nests, seeds from farming, and the herbs from herbs, may not be correct - I just used the data from Calculators/Miscellania and seed from nest data from Tip.It (only as we have nothing on it, I am running trials right now). The other points on the page need investigation; the calc's code itself, as far as my testing goes, is sound. 19:04, December 13, 2009 (UTC) I never use Miscellania, but it sounds (and looks) like it works. Good job! 19:35, January 1, 2010 (UTC) I found a rather large error which has now been fixed - it was multiplying the number of nests by days twice (days*(logs+days*nests), effectively), which was throwing up rather large figures for medium numbers of days (30 days - 30m+ o.O). 17:53, March 9, 2010 (UTC) ===Max hits (melee and ranged) calculators (Gaz)=== The code for each of these is very very similar (the formulae used to calculate them are actually the same), so I'm going to lump them together. Formula and modifiers adapted from here. The only major incorrect thing is the effect of Void Melee - the thread originally stated it was +20%; simple observations proves its not. The other thing is the lack of extreme potions, but the formulae for working out the boosts don't seem to be known, and I'd rather not guess and add it. 19:04, December 13, 2009 (UTC) The calculator is fine except for one thing - Add the combat potion to potion choices. Other than that, everything works well. 22:20, December 17, 2009 (UTC) :I added the combat potion (even though it is the same as a normal strength potion). I also added the Ancient Curses to both calculators - but, as they vary, I used a min (+5% for leeches or +23% for turmoil) and a max (+10% or +32%) value to try to get around this. I also thought of adding another field, for a specific boost percentage, e.g. if turmoil boosts you by say 28%. Thoughts? 15:41, February 7, 2010 (UTC) ::I think using the medium value as default (7.5% for leeches and 27.5% for turmoil) and adding the field would be best. Although, it might make it biaised. Another option would be using the lowest value as a default and adding a field as to how long he has been leeching/turmoiling and doing the math from there. Option one would be easier but I think the best would be a mix of 1&2 (lowest value default+field to modify %). My two cents =). -- 19:33, February 25, 2010 (UTC) Void melee has now been found out, or at least now has an accurate approximation, so I added that in (along with the corresponding void ranged approximation). I also updated it to lifepoints. 17:53, March 9, 2010 (UTC) ===Pest Control training calculator (Gaz)=== After much brainhurt I made this one. It works out the number of Pest Control points you need to get to a goal level, and the profit obtained by using each specific boat, combat level permitting. Its more of an upper-bound approximation than the true, absolute minimum amount; good enough for me. 19:04, December 13, 2009 (UTC) ===Cooking calculator (Gaz)=== Works out how many items you need to gain to get between two cooking levels (or experiences), as well as the profit/loss for doing that activity. Split into multiple tables as putting them together always caused timeouts. A few minor issues: Gnome food and cocktails, and untradeable food (lava eel etc.) don't have tables; Its also missing most of the burn levels (the point at which food is no longer burnt), as we don't have a lot, and most fansites I checked (RHQ, Tip.It, RV, etc.) have even less than us. Annoying but hey. 19:04, December 13, 2009 (UTC) :Added RSHiscores support. 12:34, June 1, 2010 (UTC) === Coordinates Form (Newbie)=== Uses the existing coordinates template to give a clue to your location. * This calculator is win in a grey boxy thing. 23:25, December 13, 2009 (UTC) *Hold on... I think already made one of these and put it in the mainspace a while back. It's probably the exact same code, since this is a pre-existing template. See Treasure_Trails_guide/Locate *:Oohh... anyway, I increased usability by using lc: for the direction (so you can shout NORTH if you so wanted) and #pad: (so you don't have to zero-pad single digits). 15:57, February 7, 2010 (UTC) *::Oohh... My first calculator ever made! It's not that awesome, missing a few things, but it works! It might have a few bugs though, not sure.
