| - Cort Enaren was a male Betazoid in the 24th century. He was a slim and unimposing member of the Fourth House of Betazed, the father of Sark Enaren, and the paternal grandfather and namesake of Cort Enaren II. He was also a cousin to Lwaxana Troi. (TNG novel: The Battle of Betazed) Prior to the Dominion occupation of Betazed in 2374, Enaren had been a member of Betazed's Parliament. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation) When Dominion forces took Betazed, he became a leader of the Betazed resistance, as did his son. (TNG novel: The Battle of Betazed) Following the end of the Dominion War, Enaren was elected as a member of the Federation Council. He opposed the Federation occupation of Tezwa, and in August of 2379, he threatened to co-sponsor legislation with Councillors Bera chim Gleer of Tellar and Kellerasana zh'Faila of Andor that would withdraw Federation resources from that world and redirect it to the Betazed rebuilding effort. Federation President Min Zife talked them out of drafting such legislation. (TNG novel: A Time to Heal) In 2380, Enaren attempted to block continuing funding for Cardassia Prime's post-war recovery, in order to direct more funds to Betazed's own recovery. He was eventually convinced by Esperanza PiƱiero to allow Cardassian aid to continue. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)
