- Insect Swarm is a talent-learned DoT spell and debuff.
- Insect Swarm is a Plasmid available in BioShock, BioShock 2 and the BioShock 2 Multiplayer. It is an active Plasmid which instantly releases a swarm of killer bees, at the cost of EVE. Once released, the swarm becomes a singular entity, circling an area and seeking out enemies. The swarm travels into different rooms and up stairs, making it useful in scouting. When a group of enemies is found, the swarm will pick a single target enemy and continuously attack it until it expires, or until the time limit on the swarm runs out, causing it to disperse. If the target dies before the swarm disperses, it will immediately move to attack a new target.
- Normally, Insects are a nuisance, nothing more. However, they can come quite in handy if there is a need to really destroy a foe's concentration. Casting this spell conjures a huge swarm of Insects that at once attacks the caster's foes. While the Insects obviously won't do much physical damage, they can totally distract the target until suddenly the caster lands the death blow.

- Insect Swarms did not inflict damage, they merely caused irritation and distracted anyone in their area. Mosquitoes, flies, and stinging gnats could be found throughout Rokugan, and were considered general pests. In recent years, outbreaks of insects have become associated with the spread of plague and sickness.

| - Insect Swarms come in many sizes and forms. Two swarms can consist of entirely different insects. The most common swarms are harmless. Some of the more aggressive insects though already pose a threat by their sheer number. Such swarms can be encountered almost everywhere, however, usually they are attracted by places of decay. The term Insect Swarm describes a common threat. While not strictly evil, Insect Swarms are often aggressive and dangerous. One of the greatest dangers of an Insect Swarm is that it can be encountered almost everywhere and often unexpectedly. Sometimes, rather harmless insects form swarms out of coincidence and disperse after a while. However, if someone provokes the forming of such swarm, he better prepares for the worst. Attracted to blood and decay, Insect Swarms are often drawn to weakened creatures that might even fall under their attacks.
