Oldknows Studio Group was an influential artist-run space set up in May 1987 by fine art graduates from Nottingham Trent University (then Nottingham Polytechnic). The seven founding members were Marcella Eldi De Persis, Anthony Hall, Ted Helmsley, Chloe Twells, Zoe Tyssen, Steven Webster and Denise Weston. A committee headed by Hall, Helmsley and Weston ran a gallery from 1989 until 1995 at the same location. The Group was located on the Third Floor of Oldknows Factory at St. Annes Hill Road in Nottingham. It disbanded in 2009 because of issues relating to the lease.
