| - Ryuk is a Shinigami and the deuteragonist in Death Note. He was the one who inadvertently gave Light Yagami the Death Note. In the American remake, he is voiced by Willem Dafoe, who also portrayed Green Goblin.

Seine Lippen sind schwarz (manchmal auch dunkelblau) und er zeigt immer ein breites Grinsen. Ryuks Kleidung ist ebenfalls schwarz, eng und wirkt durch die großzügig gesetzten Lichtpunkte im Manga teilweise lederartig. Außerdem trägt der Todesgott stets einen silbernen Ohrring mit einem Herzanhänger, ein breiten Totenkopfarmreifen und einen Gürtel, an welchem sein Death Note in eine extra dafür angelegten, kreuzförmigen Tasche hängt.
