Tach is a troubleshooter for an unknown independant organization. He takes orders from a computerized entity that goes by the name Noth. To strangers or new friends he'll introduce himself as a smuggler or a freelance transporter. So far only Elayne has some idea of who and what he really is.

- The tach, a primate-like species from Kashyyyk, was an animal that lived and died in the Shadowlands of said planet. It was hunted ferociously by Czerka Corporation employees who wanted to make tach juice Tarisian ale out of them, but even more by madclaws with a monkey fetish. Revan once went to Kashyyyk in an effort to wipe out the entire tach population in his quest to get more scratch, and nearly succeeded. Jolee Bindo lived with the tach for twenty of our standard years, we don't even want to speculate about his reasons.

The tach was considered an annoying creature by many of the sentients because of their peculiar tendency to emit a high pitched yelp. Tach glands had all sorts of chemical properties. When powdered, they made an excellent stimulant, and they were also the main ingredient in Tarisian ale. Mission Vao's brother, Griff, planned on harvesting these tach glands to make Tarisian ale in order to pay his debts to an Exchange crime lord, but was unsuccessful.

| - The tach was a small simian creature native to the planet Kashyyyk. It was more or less a harmless and curious creature. The tach was considered an annoying creature by many of the sentients because of their peculiar tendency to emit a high pitched yelp. Tachs were harmless except when a person was sprayed with a mist of tach essence. The essence enraged local tach, inciting a desire to kill the person with the essence on them. Generally, the only reason anyone would spray this essence on themselves is to lure the tach closer to themselves to kill it. Once the tach was dead, the gland near the brain could be removed, and sold for a high price. Tach glands had all sorts of chemical properties. When powdered, they made an excellent stimulant, and they were also the main ingredient in Tarisian ale. Mission Vao's brother, Griff, planned on harvesting these tach glands to make Tarisian ale in order to pay his debts to an Exchange crime lord, but was unsuccessful.

Cuando una persona era rociada con un spray de esta esencia, los tachs cercanos se enfurecían y le atacaban enloquecidamente. Los cazadores de la Corporación Czerka utilizaban estos sprays como táctica para atraer a los tachs que de otra forma huirían y así poder matarlos. El objetivo de la Corporación era extraer las glándulas cercanas al cerebro de los tach. Al molerlas se obtenía un polvo con propiedades estimulantes que era también el ingrediente principal de cerveza tarsiniana.
