Mr Harris read out the charges against Elsie Tanner when she appeared to be tried for stealing from her employers, Miami Modes, in November 1969. The exact charge as read out was that of stealing two dresses valued at eighteen guineas contrary to the theft act of 1968. Elsie took the option of being tried at this court rather than quarter sessions before a jury. After hearing the evidence, the case was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
