Arkalyn-class Assault Frigate was a warship designed and produced by Arkasian Fleet Yards, which was made to be a less expensive alternative to the Valsades-class Heavy Destroyer, which was unusually expensive for a ship of it's class, but stronger than a Nyladian-class Corvette. However, as a lack of funding was generally not a problem for the Zekrotopian Republic of United Systems and the Nyladian-class was much more popular due to it's fighter-screening ability, the Arkalyn didn't see much use except as a light escort vessel or patrol ship.
