  • Suleym naj Bi'skar, known as Uleym to non-Kaleesh, was a Kaleesh male who, at various points in his life, was a warrior of his people, a soldier in the army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems - under the command of his fellow Kaleesh, former mentor and personal hero, Grievous - a galaxy-renowned bounty hunter, a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the New Republic and the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, and his people's Senator in the New Republic Senate. By the end of his life, he was a veteran of many wars, from the Huk War to the Galactic Civil War, through to the Yuuzhan Vong War. Born during the Huk War, which saw the Kaleesh fighting for their survival as a species against the Yam'rii, also known as the Huk, Bi'Skar learned almost from birth to fight and kill, becoming proficient in the use of the Shoni spear. During the war, Bi'Skar met both Ronderu lij Kummar and Qymaen jai Sheelal and Bi'Skar swore an oath of loyalty to him after the death of Kummar as a way of showing support and friendship. Sheelal dismissed the sentiments but recognised the importance of having a highly-skilled ally who would fight for him. After Sheelal was rebuilt as the terrifying cyborg Grievous, Bi'Skar kept his oath of loyalty and worked as an enforcer for the InterGalactic Banking Clan based on Muunilist, for whom Grievous was also working. Bi'Skar's warrior past and his employment with the Banking Clan ensured that when San Hill, the Clan's chairman, pledged his support to the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus and his Separatist movement, Bi'Skar would serve as part of the army of the Confederacy during the Clone Wars. During the war, Bi'Skar rose through the ranks to become a major in the Seperatist Droid Army, commanded first by the Chiss Sev'rance Tann and later by Grievous, who proved to be an extremely able commander. Bi'Skar himself was able to demostrate his tactical ability on many occasions and became feared and respected by the forces of the Grand Army of the Republic. At some point before the end of the Clone Wars, however, Bi'Skar deserted from the Droid Army and became a free-lance bounty hunter. As a bounty hunter, Bi'Skar was noted for two things: His efficiency and his refusal to take a contract from the Galactic Empire. This often meant that he missed out on the most lucrative bounties, but Bi'Skar always maintained that he was a bounty hunter in order to fight and kill rather than to earn credits. Gradually, Bi'Skar's reputation grew. This, coupled with his well-known hatred of the Empire, caused the Rebel Alliance to approach him for recruitment. Though Bi'Skar had no love for the Alliance, his hatred of the Empire was greater and he agreed to fight for the Rebellion. During the Galactic Civil War, Bi'Skar fought in many battles, including the First Battle of Tatooine and the Battle of Zaloriis. After the disastrous Battle of Derra IV Bi'Skar left the Alliance, feeling that he had picked the losing side. However, at some point after the Battle of Hoth, Bi'Skar returned to the Alliance. Before, during and after Endor, Bi'Skar remained with the Alliance, and later the New Republic, until the liberation of Coruscant in 6 ABY. Originally intending to return to bounty hunting, Bi'Skar was persuaded to remain with the new government in order to represent the interests of the Kaleesh. Learning from the past, and not wishing to see his people isolated and friendless as they had been during the Huk War, Bi'Skar agreed. Nearly two decades passed before Bi'Skar experienced battle again. In 25 ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy. Bi'Skar devoted all of his efforts to fighting the invaders, even resigning his Senatorial office to take a more hands-on role in the war. Often fighting on the front lines, Bi'Skar was wounded several times, recovering on one occassion only after an extended period inside a bacta tank. In 28 ABY, Bi'Skar led a force to recapture his homeworld, a task they succeeded in. The following year, however, Bi'Skar was killed during the final battle of the war. After his death he became a deity of the Kaleesh, revered as the greatest force for progress their race had ever known.
