Two goals from Scott McGleish and one from Cian Bolger gave Rovers a 3–0 advantage after 32 minutes, but Rotherham pulled two back through Jason Taylor and Danny Schofield. Guy Branston's 57th-minute sending off made things a little easier for the Gas though, enabling Lee Brown and substitute Joe Anyinsah to put the game beyond Rotherham's reach.
