- Water Shields were the pair of tools carried and wielded by the Bohrok subspecies of Gahlok. These tools gave its Gahlok the power to absorb water from a nearby source, store it, and subsequently access it. Ultimately, the shields' purpose was to help wipe clean Mata Nui, and to be used for offensive and defensive combat if needed.

- Water Shield is a shaman ability learned at level 20 for those with the Restoration specialization. The spell passively replenishes mana, and when taking damage, it restores additional mana to the shaman. Water Shield can only proc every few seconds and lasts an hour.

- The Gahlok used their Water Shields to flood Onu-Koro in BIONICLE Chronicles 2: Beware the Bohrok.
- Water Shield (ウォーターシールド Wōtā Shīrudo?) is Pump Man's Special Weapon that the player obtains in Mega Man 10. When equipped with this weapon, a rotating shield of water surrounds the user. Pressing the attack button once more deactivates the Water Shield and hurls high-speed drops of water that spiral outward. Despite being a shield weapon many projectiles can slide in between the water droplets harming Mega Man, Proto Man, or Bass. Water Shield is Solar Man's weakness.
- The water shield is a special item which allows you to go underwater without drowning. When used the shield gives infinite time under water so you never have to worry about drowning. This shield is the best you can get except when used you sink to the bottom of the water.
