The power of Consume functioned by a Voidborn imbuing a minuscule portion of Void energy within a victim, using the Void as an anchor or hook from which the Voidborn would then "pull" the sum of life energy from the victim, killing them as the ultimate result. The effects of Consume upon the victim were grandiose; outwardly and within the span of several seconds, the victim of Consume experienced great neuropathic pain as their physical bodies appeared to rapidly age to the point of being insurmountably decrepit. For the user, Consume greatly accelerated the healing process, allowing them to regenerate from even lethal wounds during the draining process. On the battlefields during the Extant War, Savants that were seemingly injured beyond possibly recovery would "consume" their own Zealots in order to reengage in combat. Some among the Savant Caste, typically those blessed with the power of Omen, were permitted to make periodic usage of Consume in order to vastly increase their natural longevity; as revealed by Savelle Ulesari, some Savants had utilized Consume to sustain themselves for centuries.
