The 1880 presidential election of Rio Blanco took place on 1 August 1880, to elect the president of Rio Blanco. It is the first election to feature the Progressive Party. In this election, the same methods as in 1876 were used:
* In the first round, a council of 50 men (the Major Councillors) voted;
* In the second round, 41,000 people voted. The election saw Vice President Jonas Montrose Garner becoming President of Rio Blanco.
