He was one of four actors to appear in both the 1970 film MASH and the CBS-TV series M*A*S*H (the other three were Timothy Brown, Corey Fischer and Gary Burghoff.) Wood also played the psychiatrist in the film Harold and Maude, directed by Hal Ashby, and starring Bud Cort, who was also in the movie version of M*A*S*H*. Wood died of congestive heart failure in Macon, Georgia.
