Skrabblag hated Gabool, and desperately wanted to kill him; this led him to be responsible for the deaths of Flogga and Fishtail, whom Gabool tricked into entering the pit. When Fort Bladegirt was attacked, Gabool tricked Rawnblade Widestripe into Skrabblag's pit. Guided by the Spirit of Martin the Warrior, Rawnblade took hold of the scorpion and hurled him out of the pit. Free at last, Skrabblag attacked and killed Gabool; before the monster could do any further damage, Dandin chopped the scorpion in half with the Sword of Martin.
