Whereas discretion is essential on a large public mailing list such as Taira, the purpose of Livetalk is to provide a venue where one can enjoy more freedom of speech. As a corollary to the freedom of speech, livetalkers are requested to be tolerant of large volumes of traffic, and of different views and opinions. Livetalkers are encouraged to respond to high traffic and irrelevant posts with the liberal use of the delete key. Livetalk is not moderated, but flaming, insults and other unfair expressions are not tolerated. A subscriber violating the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) will be cautioned and eventually taken off from the list. This list was very popular for a few years, but has been very quiet for quite some time.
