The firm's lawyers both prosecute and defend clients, attempting to see that those who are innocent are protected, and those guilty are punished. Leaders: Lee Halloran, 46, leads the defense sect of the firm. Jacqueline Raines-Halloran, 41, leads the prosecution sect - she married a cousin of Lee's, and kept the Raines part of her name to stay true to the firm's tradition. History: Founded by Sammuel Halloran within the first decade of Doramraz' existence, the law firm began as a small public defense agency. It's purpose was to distinguish between the innocents and those who were corrupt. Later, Sammuel met Edward Raines, a fellow lawyer who had also settled in Doramraz. The two became partners and expanded the business, which grew to be the most prestigious law firm in the city. The firm has an apprenticeship system, in which new lawyers are trained and hired. It is also a unique law firm, in that it is the only one which both defends and prosecutes clients. These two sects are the Halloran Sect, which focuses on public defense, and the Raines Sect, which serves as prosecution for the government. The two sects are kept in the same building, but the founders were careful to avoid conflicts of interest, and so office space is the only thing they share (ie there are two distinct apprenticeship programs). Those working for Halloran and Raines can be hired by anyone with the means to pay, though lawyers in the Halloran Sect are allowed to work for free if they so choose, at their own expense. Primary Level of Operation: Halloran and Raines' main office is on Second Upper, however, they work in all levels of the Judicial System, as anyone can hire them. They work to represent people living at all levels of the city.
