| - Johann Schmbidt became the leader of a Terrorist group called HYDRA and wanted to achieve power, years later, HYDRA had come to power in Germany.Before United States entered World War II, Shmidt then located a German Scientist named Dr. Abraham Erskine, a German Scientist who had defected to the United States. Schmidt then sent a goon to kidnap the scientist and bring him to Schmidt in a Hydra Base. Scmbidt then forces him to develope a physiology-enhancing serum, only for Schmidt to inject it into himself for more power. Days later while the serum was unfinished, Johann became inpatient and injects the serum into himself. The unfinished serum made him Stronger then an ordinary Human being but caused a combustion reaction that horribly scarred his face and burning every his skin on his body, turning it bloody Red with a disfigured face of a Red Skull.

Wanting more Power, he grew interested in Norse mythology and sought out and obtained Space Gem a powerful artifact believed to be of Asgardian artifact and used its energy to power his armaments and weaponry. Schmidt also sent an assassin after Erskine before the scientist could carry his "Super Soldier Serum" experiment any further. While the attack on Erskine proved successful, Schmidt's agent was unable to obtain a sample of the improved serum due to the intervention of Captain America ,the successful test subject that Erskine had been enhanced with the serum.

Johann Schmidt took an unfinished prototype of the Super Soldier Serum that caused the severe and hideous transformation of Schmidt's appearance into a living Red Skull, but also obtained incredible attributes, such as enormous strength, speed, stamina and reflexes, and got even his intelligence increased, becoming a war mastermind.
*Enhanced Strength: The Red Skull's physical strength can match Steve to the very peak of human potential.
*Enhanced Speeds: The Red Skull is able to run at a speed of approximately 30 miles per hour .
*Enhanced reflexes: Rogers' reaction speed is 20 times greater then human beings, it allows him to react quickly to close quarter combat.it's possible that he can dodge Gunfire in blank range from multiple gunners at the same time if he's far away.
*Enhanced Durability: His bones are denser and harder then normal,to the highest human potential, which makes him durable compared to a normal human.
