As commanding officer of Task Force 12.3, Kellet flew her flag onboard the battleship PNS Schaumberg, and was supervised by People's Commissioner Ludmilla Penevski. Kellet's attack on Hancock initially proceeded according to plan, but her task force ran into an experimental wing of Shrike-class light attack craft embarked aboard the Manticoran LAC carrier HMS Minotaur, which was conducting proof-of-concept maneuvers in Hancock. Completely taken by surprise by the small and extremely powerful LACs, and trapped between the LACs, Minotaur and the Hancock defense picket, the Havenite task force was quickly decimated, and Rear Admiral Kellet herself perished when Schaumberg's flag bridge suffered a direct hit from a missile fired by the system's picket force.
