This was the first collapsible lifeboat to be lowered, under orders of Chief Officer Wilde. Bruce Ismay saw about 45 people on board, including 8-9 men and four crew members, one of them Quartermaster George Thomas Rowe. There were over 45 people on board. The occupants were:
