Philip Hartmann was a Canadian-American actor, comedian, writer, and graphic artist. He was castmember of Saturday Night Live, and provided the voices of Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz in the animated series, The Simpsons (starring Dan Castellaneta). He also co-wrote the screenplay to Paul Reubens' film, Pee-wee's Big Adventure (also starring E.G. Daily). Hartmann died of a fatal gunshot wound in a homicide in 1998, at the age of 49.
