Teasel: A Norfolk Broads cruising yacht featured in Coot Club. Mrs Barrable's brother Richard had hired her from a Wroxham boat-letter, where Tom rows to get a replacement battery (CC11). She has four berths (CC13), two and a table in the main cabin and two (where the D's sleep) in the forward cabin (CC2,5). Ransome hired similar yachts when sailing on the Broads. In May 1934 the Ransomes hired a Fairway from Wroxham, and took a gentle three-week cruise following the route of Teasel so that he could take photographs from which the illustrations for Coot Club could be drawn (NBUS page 99).
