Synopsis
  • Kid Eternity flees from the sorcerer Mordru. He tries to summon aid from the dead but fails. Mordru has him up against a wall and kills him. The JSA hold funeral services for Wesley Dodds, the original Sandman. Sand gives the eulogy. Flash believes he sees the ghost of Kent Nelson standing behind a tombstone. Fate arrives through a mystic portal, then falls over dead – his own dagger sticking out of his back – another victim of Mordru. Suddenly, a group of Egyptian zombies called the Sons of Anubis appear and attack the JSA. They spring into action and fight the zombies. As everything calms down, the old obscure hero known as Scarab appears. Elsewhere, Todd Rice, the hero known as Obsidian is seen speaking to an unseen being in a diner. The being addresses himself only as Ian.
