Michael had pictures taken that appeared to implicate Waseem in sharing Pakistani intel with him. While this would not have gotten Waseem killed, it would have caused him to be relocated to less pleasant climes. Waseem, not wishing to give up his very comfortable life abroad, agreed to give Westen intelligence on Carla.
