abstract
  • George von Gates, Regal Justice of Luxembourg, and Duke of the Netherlands, simply known as George Gates, is a Luxembourger-German statesman whose actions unified Luxembourg, made it a major player in world affairs, and created a balance of power that kept Luxembourg from falling to the wayside. As Minister of Justice from 2005 to 2010, he oversaw the re-unification and reformation of the Realm of Luxembourg. In 2011 he became Grand Duke of the Realm. Gates designed the Realm's justice and legal system and was directly appointed to executive affairs because of his work. He is now administering some of the most successful democratic-socialist policies since the reformation. His diplomacy of Realpolitik and powerful laws gained him the nickname the "Iron Duke", after the most popular German politician of the 19th century - Otto von Bismark (the Iron Chancellor). As the leader of Luxembourg, Gates has became a pioneer to Luxembourger law makers. As a statesman of moderation and balance who was primarily responsible for the re-unification of the Luxembourg people into a nation-state. He used balance-of-power diplomacy to keep the nation peaceful for the last six years. He created a new nation with a progressive social policy, a result that went beyond his initial goals as a practitioner of power politics in the Realm. Gates, a devout Lutheran who is loyal to his king, promoted a government through a strong, well-trained bureaucracy with most decisions in the hands of highly educated law makers.
