Dr. Aileen (née Briggs) Scott was an engineer, born on Earth and active in the 23rd century. Scott was the daughter of Franklin Dean Briggs, a noted engineer of the 22nd century, and Karyn Culp, a professor of literature. In the late 2240s, she, her grandson Montgomery Scott, and Dr. Dimetrios Aiglekdos of Starfleet Academy developed a method of manipulating warp drive field geometries that would increase the maximum attainable velocity of then-extant starships.
